This is part 2 of Creating Content & Timing It Right. See part 1 here.
Much like coffee, timing is integral in every phase of content production and it’s delivery. Once you’ve put the final touches on your piece and you’ve got something you’re excited to share, you still can’t forget about timing. Whether it be on social media or in an email blast, there are optimal times to share your content. When posting to Facebook, it’s incredibly easy to take into consideration your specific audience. Using Facebook’s page Insights, you can see when your followers are mostly viewing your posts. Then post accordingly. It’s that simple.
Email is a different beast. Unless you’re utilizing an email client that can gives you access to information such as email open and click through rates, you’re going to have to depend on general email statistics. The good people at Mail Chimp have been kind enough to provide some general information here. Long story short, your emails are more likely to be opened in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week.
The camera and lights are obviously necessary but when it comes to keeping you on track and visible to your customers, there’s no better tools than a clock and calendar.
